Happy Wednesday, Friends...
This month excitement started off with the arrival of our 6th month photo edits! We couldn’t be more in love with how well our photographer captures our family. Neil is not at all camera shy … thanks to his momma! I am so glad we chose this milestone to capture. I highly recommend to hire a photographer to capture those special moments for you and your family. As mommas, we're always taking pictures of our babies, husbands, or family members and we don’t necessarily have those moments captured of us when we're put together and feeling our best self. I’ll share some more of our session and go book yourself
a photographer; you won’t regret it…
Our first Easter with Neil was delightfully fun!! We surprised him with an Easter basket and naturally he gravitated to it right away with all the bright colored eggs. The weather was just so pleasant on that day as well. If his smile doesn't say it all...
Neil is officially 7 months of age now and back crawls everywhere. He loves standing while mommy holds his hands and wiggling his little butt with jello legs. He is so happy and every day he is making new facial expressions and sounds. He is loving his veggies and fruits!! He is eating like a little champ. He is a momma's boy who thankfully is still a big fan of daddy too! Ms. Rachel has become a fast favorite of Neil's playtime and she gains some pretty big smiles too! He is such an inquisitive little guy who is always watching us and taking in this big world. He already knows how to hold our cellphones for facetime to talk to his grandparents. Ok, ok, I know, enough of a momma bragging...
For my birthday in March, my parents offered as a gift some of the old barn wood they had reclaimed from my grandparents barn that was originally on their property. Dad took the time to sand down the wood and bring back its natural beauty. I love browns, golds, ambers, greens, and naturally warm moody colors for our home. I feel I was able to pull all those elements together up on this shelf above the couch. We have quite a large blank area above the couch so I contemplated whether I should just find a nice artistic piece or even framed pictures of our family. I love to change out seasonally though so I have been torn for a few months!! My husband would prefer I didn't leave the wall peppered with nail holes per season. I stumbled upon this nice antique 20'' X 16" frame at Goodwill back in January for only $10. I knew this frame had a home with me and I think it has found its spot. I am excited to place our family picture here and looking forward to changing it as much as I want. Walgreens is preparing my order as I type so by the days end I'll have the picture framed for right at $30.
For all my reader friends... If you love spunky, sassy, or spicey books, go check out an author by the name of Elsie Silver. She has three series published now with Wild Love being the first book in her new current Rose Hill series. I have read through all her books so far and have been happily surprised how each book has equally found a place in my heart as a favorite. Whenever my husband hears me laughing or smiling a mega watt smile at my book, he is always intrigued at what has my attention. I have offered several times to let me him read my books, but he gives me a hard pass and I kind of think maybe he doesn't want me to see him blushing... haha!
If I ever book a trip for a book signing, it would be for this amazing Canadian author! I am so glad I stumbled upon her books one day on Amazon. With an alluring cover and great description the book found its way into my cart and onto my doorstep. Her books filled so many of my early mornings during pregnancy when I couldn't sleep.
Stay tuned for May as I'll be sharing a glimpse into Mother's Day, outside landscaping, and more... Until then...
XOXO,
Bethany
