Make your porch welcoming...

 Happy Friday, Friends –

This Friday morning post is an encouragement post to get out and decorate your porch – if you haven’t already. I always like to decorate my front porch earlier than might be appropriate for the season, but I am OK with that and probably a trait that will never change. I am so excited to give my porch new life each season. You can ask my hubby…

I know I have shared in previous posts different items I have purchased or even pictures of my porch each season. However, this time I thought I would break down the display in this post. I originally decorated my porch once this season already and the end results were so cute, but the look just didn't resonate with me. I didn’t LOVE it and as I always make mention you have to LOVE your space. I feel the front porch should be just as welcoming to you as welcoming to your guests that are walking up to the door. Sometimes we focus more on making the house clean or decorated just right before guests come over, but you should show on the daily the same respect, love, and kindness to yourself that you share and show with others. YOU are just as important and should aim to make your home as warm, welcoming, and cozy as you can. After all, your home is your safe haven from the craziness of the world.

I bought this urn last spring/summer season at Lowes and have found many ways to make use of the container. This fall season I was stumped with what to do with it and I just kept looking for ideas. With the help of a few pictures online, I was able to take this arrangement all the way with some twists of my own. I found a nice thick grapevine wreath I had saved in the basement and placed it under the pumpkin which helped just give it that extra bit of layer. While outside out of the corner of my eye, I saw my hydrangea blooms were still looking lovely and my sedum was just the right color, too. I tucked a few snipped branches inside the vine and I feel the flowers really pop against the large orange pumpkin. If you wanted you could add a little ghost, crow, or some form of Halloween flair perched on the wreath's edge.

If you have a willow tree on your property or if you have a friend who has a tree, see if you can snag a handful or two of branches. With again a stop at Lowes, my mom was able to snag this pot for me from a store in Illinois. With the addition of the branches, I feel this pot was a nice large size container to fill the corner with the help of a few pumpkins.

Don’t forget the simplest way to refresh your porch could be as simple as throwing a new rug on your step each season. Perhaps, you don’t want much on your porch with more of a minimal vibe and that’s ok just find a way to make your house make you feel welcomed from the outside to the inside. Your porch is never too small or never too big to make it look amazing. I myself do not at all have a flashy big porch, but I have learned to decorate the porch until I LOVE it. After all, if you simply don’t know where to begin or would love help, DM and I can help bring your porch to life.

Until next time, leave your porch lights glowing and candles burn - keep chasing warm, welcoming, and cozy vibes.

XOXO,

Bethany
